Taste Profile

Sweet, nutty cocoa, slight fruity and spicy notes

Background

Guima is a brand of coffees that are produced in three different locations. Fazenda Sao Lourenco features a flat topography, typical of the savanna in Cerrado Mineiro, Fazenda Brasis is nestled among woodlands and Fazenda Santa Rita is in a valley full of Bourbons. Each place has its own terroir, which provide Guima with coffees from a very diverse sensorial profile.

Guima Cafe was established to produce high quality coffees in an environment that holds a strong commitment to best practices and deep respect to the people and to their well being.

The farms have achieved the Climate Module criteria of Rainforest Alliance, which reinforces the Guima commitment to practices that are in line with climate change mitigation and adaptation. Climate smart agriculture is able to improve profitability by reducing energy and water consumption, generating new products from agricultural waste, and ensuring more efficient use of fertilizers. Guima is also UTZ certified.

The coffee plantations are distributed along 1,650 ha in Varjao de Minas, located at an altitude of over 1,000 meters. Guima dedicates 21% of its farm land to native vegetation, protecting the rich fauna and flora of Cerrado.
